Soul Reach – Charity Fundraiser for Teenage Cancer Trust
Soul Reach is an event designed to raise funds to support charities and organisations working across our city.
This year’s chosen charity is the Teenage Cancer Trust raising funds of the new teenage cancer unit in Alder Hey Hospital.
The event will bring together some of the finest performers, in an evening of music, contemporary dance and comedy.
Artists performing on the night include MONALISA TWINS, SILENT CITIES, RANDOLPH MATTHEWS, CODY URBAN DANCE, JONATHAN MURRAY & much more.
The MonaLisa Twins, with 20 year old twins Mona and Lisa being the core of the band, are one of the very few modern groups who write original songs in the 60s Beat music tradition, reviving the genre with their harmonies and wiry, bright guitar sound. Worldwide they are getting radio airplay, remarkable album and music video reviews and thousands of fans. They’ve played shows all over Europe and just recently they got offered a weekly residency spot at the world-famous Cavern Club in Liverpool. Their high quality music videos have garnered over 4 million views and excellent rankings for their genre.
Both, their debut album “When We’re Together” (2012) and their fan-requested compilation of live and studio cover recordings, “MonaLisa Twins play Beatles & more” (2014), got many influential 60s era people to write commendatory things about the twins and their music.
What happens if you cross Bobby Mcferrin, Youssou n’ dour and Seal with a Vocal percussionist ? Meet vocal voyager Randolph Matthews.
If you’ve caught Randolph live, or his music you’ll understand Randolph Matthews operates in his own parallel world, well away from traditional mainstream record label marketing formulae. His music is an evolving journey, rooted in purity and unshackled expression, drawing from the greats of Youssou n’dour, Seal and Bobby McFerrin Randolph.
Silent Cities is the alias of experimental recording artist, Simon Maddison. Frequently playlisted on
BBC 6 Music and BBC Merseyside he continues to consolidate a cult following on the underground
music scene across the United Kingdom. By utilising natural acoustics with a soaring falsetto vocal
cleverly splashed across a backdrop of ethereal soundscapes, Simon creates minutes of intense
atmospheric beauty that leave audiences silenced in wonder.
The Medina Project is the latest Silent Cities installation due to be released throughout 2015.
“Jono again, the bio usually just talks about my routine and background. The last one was this “Jonathan ‘Jono’ Murray is a local comic who tells strictly true stories, no matter how outrageous, unbelievable and chaotic, everything you hear is true. From making documentaries for the BBC to tales from his home town Kirkby, you will be shocked, stunned, but most of all, laughing”
Please come down and enjoy a great night of music and performance and help to raise as much money as we can for those young people & their families across the whole of Merseyside and North Wales.
